The proposed side sign facing Route 1 is “A Primitive Shop for Needful Things.” The proposed sign over the front door facing Mill Rock Road East is “Home at Last”. The signage for the business will be mustard and burgundy in color and it will replace the existing signage on the same footprint.
Mr. Brodeur suggested that the sign locations be reversed: “Home at Last” to be located on the side of the building facing Route 1 and the sign “A Primitive Shop for Needful Things” to be located over the front door facing Mill Rock Road East.
There was a lengthy discussion and recommendations surrounding the color of the proposed signage. It was suggested that the burgundy letters be brighter in color so as to be more easily read from the road. Mr. Aiken suggested that the letters on the signage should be larger and a bolder font with a lighter background.
MOTION to approve “Home At Last” Wall Signs with the recommendation that the house logo/picture will be larger inside the top 2’ section of the sign facing Route 1. The “Home at Last” sign will be located on the side of the building facing Route 1 and the sign “A Primitive Shop for Needful things” will be located over the front door facing Mill Rock Road East.
